Lots of little glitches Seems like in the past 48 hours, it's almost as if every single element of the backbone infrastructure has experienced some random independent glitch. 3 of our upstreams had problems (hardware failure, accounting disagreements, DDoS), one of our redundant routers rebooted (inexplicably, while idle), our mailserver hung (maybe for 20 minutes), I (Myke) made a little mistake and knocked my own home connection offline, and I also Kicked The Powercord on a server I'm staging.

And this is just what I remember while in my Saturday-Morning-Sleep-Stupor! :\

Just because we're quiet doesn't mean we're not working!

Expect another post in a day or two - we'll be doing some upgrades in our Toronto datacenter next week.

Upstream maintenance for the next 3 nights. From about midnight onwards.

I expect this to affect our ADSL customers. Colo and hosting may experience some short glitches, but nothing extended.

Bell maintenance last night/this morning. We received a lot of reports of ADSL outages in the 613 area this morning. We had no advanced notice.

A short note from a new customer... This client recently ditched Rogers for Internet access and switched to our Residential ADSL product, we just got this note from him this afternoon:

"The Rogers technician that came over to our place wanted to know where we were getting internet access from, cause his son goes over their limit. Thought you might find that funny..."

We do! :)
