Montréal Upstream Maintenance Saturday Morning 0600 From our bandwidth provider in Montréal:
"Please be advised of the following maintenance window:
-- Saturday November 1st 2008, between 6:15AM and 7:00AM, Eastern Time.

During this time frame there will be a single interruption of service that will last between 3 and 5 minutes. This maintenance is required to add an extra layer of routing redundancy between all three current datacenters locations. We will also be integrating two more upstream providers into our BGP4 mix.

Montréal looking better now.
Packet Loss
Ignore the baseline latency as this ping-test is being run from an ADSL connection in Myke's basement)

More Montréal Problems After about 90 minutes of 80% packet-loss, and then 20 minutes of normal access, our Montréal upstream provider seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Montréal colo and most email is affected right now.

NOC & Status 'blog back! Didn't think it was going to take that long for this to come back, just a bit over 2 weeks... but that's the crux of colo-exchanges, sometimes you get temporarily evicted! (Don't put 2U servers into loaded half-racks, not when someone else is staging a 4U server there!)

While we were out, I was updating the Server North Twitter feed with updates, but nothing too remarkable: Bell glitch, Montreal colo glitch (yet another failed GBIC?), redundant PSU replacement and some filesystem/partition maintenance for the SAN.
